Amanda has been asked to talk about the deep creativity involved in hospice work as the keynote speaker for the 40th anniversary luncheon for Hospice of Petaluma. Her novel “Going to Solace” celebrates the under-sung genius of professional and familial caretakers at a hospice in a small North Carolina town. Amanda gets to speak with choreographer Nancy Lyons, music director Lynne D. Morrow and sculptor Bruce Johnson about “Into the Heartwood,” two dance+music+sculpture performances inspired by and presented around Mr. Johnson’s old-growth-redwood sculptures in the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts Garden. More information at Soco Dance Theater. The event is free and suitable for families and friends of all ages.
