Amanda McTigue’s debut novel Going to Solace (published by HD Media Press) was named a Best Read of 2012 by public radio KRCB’s literary program “Word by Word.” Her recent short stories have been published in The Writing Disorder, Literally Stories and 99 Pine Street. She’s hard at work on her second novel.
Amanda says a quick (2 min) hello:
On September 13, 2012, Amanda spoke with Gil Mansergh, host of public radio KRCB’s literary program “Word by Word” in an extended interview that touched on some of the hidden themes of the book, including the fact that many of the characters are written to be “racially relative,” that is, they can be seen (and indeed are seen) as African American or as white depending upon the reader. Great fodder for book clubs. Here are excerpts Gil included in his “Where are They Now?” program featuring, along with Amanda, Pulitzer-Prize-winner Adam Johnson. Click here to listen. Amanda’s featured about 29:30 minutes into the broadcast.
